When Gang-joo was a young boy, he was kidnapped but rescued by a god and he has kept the god’s presence as a secret. The god confirms the curse and Gang-joo decides to break off the engagement to save Doo-rim. Jae-ran and Yi-gyeong blame this on Doo-rim and ask her to come back to change Gang-joo’s mind. When Doo-rim asks Gang-joo why he wants to end things, he tells her he hates her and breaks her heart. Meanwhile, Il-do finds out the truth about his first wife’s car accident. He takes Doo-rim to a lake nearby and tells her about the curse. Doo-rim realizes that Gang-joo was only trying to protect her and falls in love even more.
